History Haul

The local elementary school hosts a book fair once a year. They ask for donations all year long and then have a sale for several days in April. I believe the proceeds go toward college scholarships given out at the high school but they are continue to be vague about how much money they make and who actually benefits. No, but only because I'm avoiding used book sales. Our bookshelves throughout the house are literally overflowing with books and I'm making an effort to read what I have before I bring more into the house. Not an easy vow to keep.

Years ago (before Six Feet Under), I was working on an adult novel set in a funeral home. I found THE BEST book on funeral homes at the library and checked it out all the time. I'd still buy that sucker if I found it at the library book sale (which I'm avoiding).

That would truly be a find! I'm trying to visualize where such a book would be categorized--somewhere between historic places and gardening?
