Pourquoi, Mademoiselle?

I just watched the Golden Globes.

GOLDEN GLOBE WINNERS SPOILER ALERT!

I'm pretty happy with how the awards went! I think the only time I was disappointed was when Lost won for best drama. I mean, I know people are obsessed with that damned show, but BEST DRAMA? Are my friends and I wrong, or was it meant to be a mini-series? Now how are they ( Read more... )

YES. EXACTLY. Thank you Lindsay for clearing up this snow-misunderstanding for those lucky ones from warm climates. SNOW IS NOT FUN NOR ENJOYABLE. Well, not after the first day anyways..

They seem to have it in their heads that snow creates a magical wonderland of fairy tale animals and love stories. Winter is such a miserable season. . .

Hey, you can take the humidity, the frizzy hair, the constant heat, the sweating, the people fainting in church at school, the mosquitos, the branding iron seat belts, and God forbid you have leather seats or dare to walk barefoot on the sidewalk! And let's not forget the hurricanes that like to destroy yours truly's home. They both have their terrible attributes but the grass is always greener and I'd love to have snow. We did for the first time last Christmas in fifteen years but winter's always been my favorite season so I'd have no problem with the cold. ;) *Trades lives.*

Winter is fun until December, then it can politely screw off.
But this is why I looooove NS. We get snow, but never more than 3 feet really, but it doesn't usually really start until January. Shoveling isn't that bad as long as you don't let it build up (It's a bitch though, I know, I hate shoveling too,) It never really goes past -40C with the windchill. The summers get around 30 C, though the water isn't warm enough for swimming until September, but that's ok because I hate the beach and we have so many lakes that are just fine. We get the occasionaly small hurricane, usually the tail end, never does a whole lot of damage, thankfully. It rains quite a bit, but that just means our grass is green:D The weather changed at the drop of a pin though, and we get crazy winds, but oh well. I love my little peninsula!

Ew. That does sound pretty horrible, and I feel bad for you having to live where there are hurricanes and the like. I was thinking more along the lines of somewhere in Europe. There would be not too much snow (if any), and it wouldn't be warmer than I am used to (around 25 celsius) which is still great swimming weather!

As for the humidity, frizzy hair, hot seat belts, and leather seats? We experience the same things in the summer. And don't even get me started about the infamous mosquitos and blackflies of Northern Ontario.

Maybe the world just all around sucks *^_^*

*lets you have her life, but trades her new life to some Irishman.*

I found it interesting that Mary-Louise Parker won the award for Best Actress in a Drama when she was up against all four Desperate Housewives. I didn't mind though, because I wanted Felicity Huffman to win it, then she won later on for Best Actress in a Drama Film *^_^*

You can find a list of the winners here.
