[Action] Because I fucking can. :|oh_neku_dearFebruary 8 2011, 00:19:53 UTC
That depends on who you're talking about, now, doesn't it?
[Joshua's standing behind him a few feet away, having wandered into the forest dome for a change in scenery. He gives the other teen a contemplative look. He can sense that there's something not quite right with Riku, as if something feral is locked inside of him, but can't put a finger on what just yet.
The Composer did sense the fading of two extreme forces, something that's hard to miss, honestly. Judging by Riku's reaction, and the reactions he's seen over the network, Joshua can safely guess that the two forces were Ventus and that extremely negative person he'd seen in passing.]
[Action] Riku loves you forever, bro. :|limitless_landFebruary 8 2011, 00:43:01 UTC
[Riku blinks, glancing over his shoulder a moment before looking over the water again. He's locked that feral, foreign darkness deep within him, otherwise normal besides the obvious. Damn that currently gayass flamer.
And yes, one of them was Ventus. The other, however... had been the one who'd helped him gain some mastery of his own darkness again. Gotten it under his own control again... His friend, no matter what the others said about him.]
Good, J loves you, too. Else he'd never let you into his house. |Doh_neku_dearFebruary 8 2011, 00:54:50 UTC
Hard to miss the sudden disappearance of unnaturally pure light and darkness. Not to mention the network being abuzz by the ordeal.
[He's going to chill where he is, lilac irises no longer on Riku. Instead, he's watching the still lake like it's the most fascinating thing in the sea.]
heh... /clings to bro ; ;limitless_landFebruary 8 2011, 00:59:56 UTC
Yeah... No kidding.
[Not to mention he could sense sense their powers flaring then fading as they did so. Darkness faded away into light... so he had to think Vanitas fell to Ventus. Light always seemed to prevail like that.]
...Vanitas. He helped me regain control of myself when I was grappling with my own power.
/he hugs awkwardly back D:oh_neku_dearFebruary 8 2011, 01:09:46 UTC
About time someone taught you.
[He shrugs nonchalantly. Dealing with death and loss everyday for so many years has made him numb to feel anything like sympathy. Everyone loses something at some point in their lives, and there will always be grief, guilt, and sorrow.
Perhaps Naoya's right in that he doesn't have a heart any longer, just one more loss to tally on the ever-growing, never-ending list.]
[Riku sighed, still watching the water closely as he listened. He'd stepped out of the darkness and was victorious, both of his own and this foreign substance that tainted his soul and mind. It wasn't grief that held him in place, but guilt. He was Vanitas' only friend... and he hadn't been there to help him, to stop that fight from even taking place.
Heh. Like you could stop an unstoppable force.]
...I'm going to be marked as a traitor, once they return.
So what? They'll just have to get over it. Expecting you to have the same opinion as them is foolish, no matter how close a friend you are. After all, a 'debate' is no fun when both sides agree.
[Joshua tilts his head, as if to get a different view of the lake.]
Just don't expect to save everyone all at once. You can't be everywhere, you know.
[A soft sigh.]
Besides, what could you have done? It was bound to happen regardless of whatever anyone did.
[He gets to his feet, not daring to look Joshua in the eye just yet. It would reveal too much.]
I don't know what will happen, but I don't want Sora and Kairi to get hurt because of me. [They're the only family I really have left, even though I won't admit it out loud...] And after seeing Terra's reaction, I don't think I'll be able to stay with them for a while; not until it blows over.
[...he doesn't answer the other part, because he certainly hadn't said anything about his guilt. Riku knows his limitations, but right now... it's hard for him to even think clearly.]

I doubt you didn't sense it.

I take it you knew one of them?

But it's not like it was entirely unexpected.

I doubt Aziraphale would mind if you slept on the couch in our house.
[Guilt is way too obvious to see in people like Riku, which is why he mentioned it.]

...Thank you, Joshua.
[Fff. Like he'd admit to it, anyway. Not after the last lecture he got about it on the outside... by a talking mouse, no less.]

Not a problem. You just didn't hear it from me.

Sure. [I'll keep my mouth shut again, as usual.]
[...Yeah, pretty sure a duck setting his own tail feathers on fire then igniting a cursed pirate with it beats a lecture from Mickey.]
