shouldn't she try to uncover what it is that doesn't let you sleep?
Well, I told her. I saw a bit of Silence of the Lambs and it freaked me out. But she didn't give any advice as to how to overcome this paranoia (the obvious solution is to just not watch horror movies, but that's not the only thing freaking me out), or even why I'm the only person I know who is this sensitive and easy to scare.
I think it's not considered an issue until you have panic attacks... like my mom does... still, you could tell her that you get scared easily? or something
*thwacks therapist really hard but not hard enough to knock her out*
*more demon-banishing hugs* When I couldn't sleep I would hide totally in my sleeping bag, trying not to move, until the monsters went away. But I seem to recall you are not scared of monsters-in-the-dark. I recommend keeping a big stick where you can lay hand upon it in a second.
And I do think there is a difference between "getting scared easily" and "experiencing abject terror on a semi-regular basis with absolutely no explanation".
If I knew how to help someone get over fear, well, for one I wouldn't be having problems with Michael >.> but I would totally try to help you, and I bet I'd be better than your therapist, because I actually care about you staying sane. <3
