Well, once again I have failed to update at an appropriate frequency, and now I'm leaving Australia and going home tomorrow. Here are the most important facts:

1. torreycanyon still lives. Although he has been only marginally compliant with restrictions on lifting heavy things and walking around, he continues to recover quickly
