haha they opened up a small avon store next to my hairstylist so I went in and she told me about being a representative and everything and even gave me sample booklet to show my friends. I really wish I hadn't given her my phone number. It sounded interesting at first, but I'm really not interested in going out of my way to try to sell the product.
Plus I looked up more information about being a representative and this girl in good detail described how you ended up losing more money because you have to pay for the booklets and then there are some hidden fees like late sign up or paying for your own website and all this other stuff. So it seemed like it wasn't really worth it. You have to sell at least like $50 to get only 20-40% of the profit.
But I was asking because I'm not familiar with the products and I didn't know if anyone I know would actually be willing to buy Avon products
And that girl makes money by recruiting you too...so it's a pyramid scheme sort of.
Wow, I didn't realize there were so many hidden fees involved. I once considered it for a little extra income, but it sounded too complicated. Glad I didn't pursue that one. I know an Avon man...that was weird.
granted that this is one person's opinion and I've also read another that believed they were making a steady income via avon, but to get that you have to reach out to ALOT of people and hope that they are also willing to buy several products several times.
and like I said I don't really know a lot of people that use Avon, I don't think. My hairstylist said that her daughter tried it but she was hoping that by leaving the catalog in her mother's business would get customers, but it didn't work out.
