I wish I could hire someone to come to my place, listen as I point out which items I actually give a crap about, and then go through everything else and either recycle it, sell it, or donate it. Tossing all this stuff in the trash seems criminal. Even if it is just junk!

have you considered donating it to charity? my dad found a place to take the household items we didn't want from my grandmother's apartment and take them to give to families in need.

and when i say take, i mean they came with movers and took them themselves, we didn't drop it off

Hire a personal organizer, and pick out a charity who will pick up all of your stuff from you. :)
