So this morning I was wasting some time on the internet before I was going to go to Meeting, when I saw that Westboro Baptist, of "godhatesfags.com" fame, was going to be picketing a couple of churches, and some other folks had put together a counter-protest . I think that all of us doomed fags/bitches already have bitch burger in our hearts, judging by their claim that "you eat your children daily". I think actually only their church is free of contamination by these doom burgers. As far as I can tell. Damn it now I'm hungry.

My brain can not wrap itself around the whole "God hates X" phenomenon. My reactions is "God hates me, so I should "repent" and love him? No thanks, sounds like that god is kind of a dick." But that can't be what they're going for, right? ;)

Actually it kind of is. In Westboro's theology, everybody who does not belong to their church goes to hell. Which is saying something, since their church has about 70 members. They're not interested in making you love god, they just want you to understand that he hates you. Because not only does God hate everybody outside of WBC, he also thinks it's very important that they understand that he hates them. So yeah, not so much "kind of a dick" as "flaming asshole".

I agree, it was a lot of fun. I was there at both protests and I think you and I chatted at one point. I was the girl in the orange dress with the long hair and the "Love stops Hate" sign (http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=200851050150&h=QWGPQ&u=FPA1G&ref=nf )
