I'd be very distressed if they killed off Bruce Wayne, simply because I see no viable way to bring him back. So this is somewhat good news to me. Though Bruce as a New God...well, I'm sure it'll be great fodder for slash. :)

Truthfully, in JLA comic when White Martians revealed that they messed with human evolution and that Earthers were meant to become New Gods...
That put the whole DCU in a brand new perspective to me, as a few moments ever did. It was a true surprise.
