I just thought that what he said at the end of the first chapter was so compelling that I went back and re-read it to try ( Read more... )

People believe P & ~P at the same time.

Is it the politicians job to balance that?

Err..is that question directed at me or Obama?

I suppose it is the politicans job to balance it but, for politics today as corrupt as it is that its hard for them to balance P & ~P.

Obama does say in his book that when he was doing the hall meetings across Illinois that people would come up to him and the two things people would say to him is: "Please stay who you are." and "Please don't dissapoint us." He said he has to look through Bush's eyes on politics no matter how much he disagrees.

On a totally unrelated topic he talks about filibuster and nuclear option. Oh politics how I love/loathe thee.

It's just a question.

However it seems like Obama wants to balance society. He wants to make sure Republic-esk justice is served. The Rational part of society is what he will be. The Appetite and Spirit of America has gotten out of hand, it must be humbled so harmony can occur.

Obama wants to make the United States of America just, for perhaps the first time ever.

Yes it is fair that Obama would want to make the United States just for the first time and it seems appropiate that it would be him. Before, Obama came around we were just another Midwestern state, somewhat blue, somewhat red just smack down in the middle.

What I like about Obama is that he is trying to make all voices heard. I guess that was the point of his cross Illinois town hall meetings so he can listen to the people.
