Loved this. I was totally embarrassed for John when it became clear that Rodney totally misinterpreted his date invitation, but I was hot with *another* kind of emotion by the end of the fic. I really want to see all that stuff that Rodney promised John! lol

It takes someone especially skilled in the nuances of life to write romance, humour (Canadian here) and drama in one short fic and to make it lyrical. I. Loved. It.

There were so many things I loved: all the little bits such as Rodney's magnificent shoulders (yummmm) to tasting of mint rather than the predictable coffee to his ability to make blazing hothothot propositions during sex. Really, I'm amazed to see how you could move from wistful to GUH and back.

But I nearly cried at the thought of John's intentions not being understood. So I was relieved [no kidding!] you fixed it.
