Luverly as usual. I am really envious of how you can incorporate such subtle gesture into your work. When I draw (a rarity these days) it is stiff and inflexible. Robot like. :-(
About the job thing, I feel for you, but I don't have any meaningful suggestions. :-( All the best.
I really like this piece (sorry for not being more specific - it embodies a lot of the things I like about your work so I'd probably be repeating myself).
What do you want to do with "the whole artist thing"? Like ... what kind of career are you looking for? <- I hope that's not too personal.
Thank you! Condidering what a huge fan I am of your work, that really made my day :)
...Well, as far as the artist thing goes, right now I'm working parttime doing freelance illustration. That in itself isn't bad at all... It's my fulltime job that gets in the way. I do civil servant work for the government, and it's a very emotionlly draining job, plus very time consuming. It was supposed to be a temporary thing, but it's really starting to take its toll on me.
Ah, you're mistaking me for nati_in_the_sky - I'm just the person who commissioned the image in my afore-used icon ;)
Coincidentally, though, your story is a lot like hers - she hopes art will be her living some day, but until such a time as she can do that she has a demanding day job to contend with alongside her art commitments. I don't know how she does it, and I don't think it comes easily, but she tries.
(I'm collaborating with her on something, for the record - I'm not some mad loon fan repeating her life story.)
It is a lot of hard work... Honestly, if I didn't have to pay back loan for schooling, I'd drop the day job and take up something less stressful along with the art. For now, I do need two jobs, since my art doesn't bring in enough to pay my bills yet.
