So what I really love in this opening part is how you've set the stage for the fic without be blatant about it. You haven't bogged us down in details, which is really easy to do in AUs! Kudos to you on that. Also, I get a real feel for DH in this fic--the camping out (of sorts), the struggle to stay off the radar, the need for supplies. It's a nice tip of the hat to the series, and definitely has me buying into this AU already.

And can I just say that I love how you've started us off with Remus and Lily's friendship. It's one of my favorite things to find in fic, and you also have it similar back to canon as well (i.e.-Lily always being there for Remus, Lily as a protector, etc).

And I'm glad you liked the Remus and Lily friendship - I knew that was one of your likes. Their friendship (or the potential) is one of mine too. When Remus says in the PoA film (though not in the book, I believe?) 'Your mother was there for me at a time when no one else was' (paraphrased), I loved the implictions of that - that possibly, Lily might have known his secret before the Marauders. I think her being a Muggle-born and him being half would have made them have loads in common.
