This is such a beautiful, poignant piece - I adore the dynamic between James and Lily ("Your men are starving, woman. Feed us!" James demanded. - hee!), but the serious undercurrents were always there - as they should be. Their claustrophobia, restlessness, fear and cabin fever comes through in a very powerful way.

But my favourite part has to be Sirius's cameo - as I've said elsewhere, it's clear that Lily was also close in friendship with Sirius, and I just loved the way you portrayed the 3 of them together (I wasn't sure how much longer I could continue to sound appalled instead of turned on. - :D! :D!). And I thought your portrayal of the way the Secret-Keeper switch might have gone down was very plausible, actually.

Lily thought she saw Sirius wipe away a tear when he handed Harry over to her.
This made my heart crack, as did those last few lines.

Very well written, mystery author! I'm going to echo what everyone else is saying and mention that I liked the approach that you took with the Secret Keeper business. It's an interesting take, and one that could have definitely happened for all we know.

Lily and James really felt like parents to me in this fic. I can't really explain what it was about the fic, but they just did. I also loved your Lily and how she thought of Godric's Hollow as a prison. I like to imagine it otherwise, but in all honesty it was a place where they were trapped--as much as Sirius was in Number 12 in OotP. James was marvelous here as well ("Your men are starving, woman. Feed us!" -- wonderfully James, this). Sirius' cameo was well done, and both sad and humorous all at once.
