Lily/James Games 2011 - Posting starts tomorrow!

May 22, 2011 21:46

We're very excited to announce that posting for the Lily/James Games 2011 will begin soon - namely, tomorrow. One piece of fanwork will be posted each weekday for the next three weeks or so. On weekends, no fic/art will be posted. Instead, there will be a recap post to give people a chance to catch-up on the submissions for the previous week.

We feel that catch-up period is especially important because there will be a voting component for each submission - this is, after all, a Games-style fest!

However, voting for the Games is going to run a little differently from other Game fests. Normally, participants are unable to vote on submissions in order to deter bias voting. However, the Lily/James fandom is rather small compared to these other Games pairings (Harry/Draco, Snape/Harry, Remus/Sirius), so the mods have decided to permit participant voting.

Here's how it will work:
  • Submissions will be posted "blind". We will not be revealing which submission belongs to which team.
  • We know that sometimes a participant is going to know who wrote what, especially given that there are team communities. Rest assured that the mods will be monitoring votes and watching out for bias voting. If a participant votes consistently high for one group (8-9points) and consistently low for another (2-3 points), the mods will contact them about it and not count their votes. Participant voting is a privilege; the best way to keep that privilege is by simply giving your honest opinion! With the creation of new fanworks for our ship, we're all winners. Team members are asked not to vote for their own work.
  • In order to vote, you need to be a member of the community (click here to join!). Voters will be rating the following:
    # How well did the author/artist utilize their prompt? (1-10, 1 being the least)
    # Over all, how much did you enjoy this fic/art? (1-10, 1 being the least)
  • Please note that for the "prompt utilisation" component, vote for prompt usage should be based solely on the prompt rather than the season it is based on. For example, for a piece based on "World Cup" (Summer Item 2), voters should rate how well they feel "World Cup" is utilised as a prompt. That it is a Summer prompt is only for organisation purposes, and should not be used to rate prompt utilisation.
  • Both mods will each average the votes for each submission. We then compare numbers to make sure everything is correct. Team scores will be posted at the end of the fest, but individual scores will remain private.

Please refer to the example poll below the cut-

Please take a quick minute to rate this fic/art! Results will be secret, and contribute to the overall performance of Team Doe or Team Stag in the Lily/James Games 2011. Only community members can vote; but joining the community is open to all and will only take a quick minute!

For your vote to count, you must fill out BOTH parts of the poll. The first will rate the author/artist's utilisation of the prompt. The second rates your overall enjoyment of the story/art. Please use only integers when rating the submission.

In the meanwhile, we've got a great line-up of Lily/James centric fanfiction and fanart, and we hope you are as excited to see them posted as we are! ♥
