IF it's the same person, Viria is the art that turned me onto the whole thing! Does she have writing as well?

I'll definitely check out the Life and Times work. I found some wonderful work by an artist called Lust or Love, which I fell in love with, but still smarting from the fact that she is no longer writing. :(

No, Viria is just an artist but she's pretty great! She does prompts from fic sometimes, I think.

Agree with above, Lexicon is a goldmine for dates and such. I've never written Marauder Era fic before, but it helped when I was writing mine set just before Trio era. Who was in what house, classes people were in, etc. And for fic recs, definitely agree with The Life and Times. Here's a link to my favorite stories on fanfiction.net which has a bunch more, multi-chapter and one shots. If you want an active community, I'd check out the Jily tag on Tumblr as well (which is essentially where I lived all summer). Lots of people post their stories or drabbles there and are more than happy to help with any questions you'll have!

Not sure if you're still looking for recs, but I would recommend B.C. Daily (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/337134/B_C_Daily), liebedance (http://liebedance.livejournal.com/), and museme87 (http://museme87.livejournal.com/) to start. :) Their stories are among my favorites, because their characterization is nearly perfect, in my opinion.

Oh! And Molly Raesly (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1629523/Molly-Raesly). Stray is about Sirius rather than James and Lily, but it's really poignant. Boyfriend is on the light/silly side, but it's cute. She's worth a look, for sure.
