Hi,

I'm looking for good fics on the first war during the marauders' era, preferably on Lily and/or James's involvement in the Order of the Phoenix. Any length goes. Canon-fics only, please, but feel free to advertise your own fics here, I'd love to read them!

My fic fits that bill, if you want to check it out: The Age of InertiaSummary: "You're a pretty, innocent-looking young witch. You could get away with anything." As an obituary writer and spy for the Order of the Phoenix, Lily Evans looks to her past to keep the part about innocence at least partly true. - Set in 1979 and told from Lily's POV, novel-length and in-progress. Lily begins her work with the Order as a low-level sentinel, manning the underground escape network the Order has set up for refugees of the war. Soon, though, she finds herself working a much more gritty and dangerous job ( ... )

HI, I've been following your story for a while now! (I wish you'd update more often, I always groan when I finish reading a chapter and there's no more to read and I really want to know what happens next...but I understand the constraints of real life, dratted thing that it is)

I'll check out the other suggestion, I think I might have read it (it's hard to keep track of all the fics after a while), but I'll see.

You might want to check out Shimotsuki's story, Seeds of Suspicion over at Pheonix Song. It's short, but it's well-written and canonical.

Yikes, sorry I left this comment so long! It's because I can't really think of any long, post-Hogwarts fics to rec, unfortunately. I wish I could; I would be reading them! : ) The only consolation I have to offer is that I wrote one set in 6th year that foreshadows the war. You can try it if you like; it's called Precipice. And let me know if you find anything! : )
