- how completely fucked my sleep schedule is, and the fact that I can't fix it because it's too hot to sleep in my house.

oh oh! that second picture, of the lady in the tree? i have always loved that picture, & it was my desktop for ages when i first found it. the whole series of pictures is amazing. artistically, because some of the shots are just gorgeous, & emotionally, because people being beautiful & natural & honest is the best thing in the world. ♥

Hi!

I feel like... It's not even the parents. It's society in general which permits, even encourages smaller forms of this hatred. Every prime time television show that makes a joke out of being transgender, every time gender expression is cut out of an anti-discrimination bill to make it more palatable. Every time we/they reaffirm the gender binary (reaffirm ourselves/themselves within that context), we set those who don't fit up to be hated and feared as Others. It's... disgusting and disturbing, and intimidating because it is so big and pervasive. But, fuck. May as well fight it, right?

And on a lighter note - yes, I think you will find that I am a BIG Mikeyway fan. :D

I'm glad you appreciated it! I love that whole series of pictures. It's so weird because I find myself lamenting the state of the world when I read articles like the one that I posted above, but during the course of the same day I see something like that photo project and just have to MARVEL at how fucking COOL people are sometimes, you know?

Yeah. IDK, my life philosophy is something like, "People suck. But sometimes they're also awesome." So I wander around hating them for days, indulging my misanthropy, and then something that someone does will shock me out of it and make me realise how cool people can be.
