I love that you've given us what feel like missing pieces for this episode; Morgana was conspicuous by her absence. I had wondered if she'd feel angered by someone else's attempts to kill Uther, but you are spot on here with her needing Uther to acknowledge her as his daughter.
I also approve of Morgana being the one to free Alice. It just makes sense! :D

Thanks! Yeah, I felt like there was so much opportunity to do interesting things with Morgana in this episode that wasn't pursued.

As soon as the warning bells started ringing, I decided that Gaius had gotten Morgana to free Alice. Because what would be a better solution than that?

I liked how they kept confronting Morgana for the things she didn't do that time. I esp liked that Merlin was considering that maybe he'd made the wrong decision after all and condemned them all to this.

Guh. You have killed me dead with this. Because THIS is what should have happened, not the silliness we got where Morgana didn't even show up. You capture everything so succinctly - Morgana's sense of futility, her and Merlin's antagonism, Merlin's uncertainty.

I *really* love that Gaius goes to Morgana for help, since not only does it make sense but it shows the strength of his affection for Alice. And it lets Morgana realize how far she's strayed from her original purpose. Great job bringing back the 'damn the consequences' line from S1!

Guh, there's just . . . so much here that I would love to see in the show. Thank you so much for writing it! :)

Thank you! :D

I think Morgana has been straying further and further from her original purpose, and it's time *someone* drew that to her attention.

I've always thought, "Sometimes you've got to do what you think is right, and damn the consequences," is Morgana's signature line. It defines her character.
