Well, then Will made it to shore-- but Elizabeth made it to him while he was still wading through the shallows. And then they went home, and everyone in the neighborhood was extremely surprised to find that Mr. Turner was A) real and B)alive.
Within a year Elizabeth had a daughter, and another one two years after that. And they lived happily ever after.
