"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Dawn was bouncing around her room in excitement, holding a very large envelope marked with the words "Oxford University."

She'd probably get around to opening it eventually. This was sooooooo much better than tequila.

Sam peered out from the bathroom, where he was drying his hands. "Is that a good eeeee or a 'there's a creepy bug Sam needs to kill' eeeee?"

"I got into college!!!!!" She ignored the crack about the bug because a) true and b) Oxford. "Look at me, all accepted and stuff!"

There was more dorky looking dancing, and the envelope was still in her hand, unopened.

"Really?" Sam asked, looking at the envelope. "I mean, not really, because of course all the schools you applied to are going to accept you. Which one is it?"

"Oxford! The land of Giles!" Then there was butt wiggling. "Oh my god, I'll have to learn to wear tweed!"

Sam was momentarily distracted by the butt wiggle before the rest of what she said sunk in. "Oxford? Like, Oxford in England?"

"Uh huh!" She nodded and finally went looking for something to use to open the envelope, still beaming. "Isn't it awesome?"

For all Dawn's enthusiasm, all Sam could think about was how far away Oxford was. But she was so excited that Sam couldn't bear to bring her down. "Completely awesome," he said. "Do you know how hard it is to get in? I told you you're brilliant."

Dawn would realize exactly how far away England was from Sam just as soon as she came down off her "I got into college" high, but for now, she was very excited. "Oooh, look at this. Joint degree program in Modern Languages and Linguistics!"

"You are such a nerd," Sam said, before breaking into a grin. "I'm so proud of you."

She let out another squeal, then threw herself at Sam, hoping he'd catch her. "I love everything right now, but you especially. Even if you did just call me a nerd."

Sam laughed, caught her, and twirled her in a circle. "I meant it in a totally Oxford-approved way," he said. "And I love you too, like crazy."

She squealed again as he spun her around, then hugged him tightly as reality finally crept in. "It's not that far away."

[psychic_wonder]

"Yeah, not that far. Just in another country, across an ocean," Sam said, half-teasing.

"Only five hours, and there's the phone and e-mail and maybe portals..." Suddenly this didn't seem quite so fantastic.

[psychic_wonder]

"You're lucky I'm not afraid of planes. Dean's going to have to sail across the ocean to visit."

[lilpunkinbelly]

"Maybe you guys'd really like England once you got there, if that's even where I'm going?"
