Quick yarn question for the pros, please help a gal out

Can I use just this to wind yarn, or do I need to use it in conjunction with a ball winder like this?  Thanks in advance!!!

in general, you use them together, however, if you want to wind by hand you can use the swift alone.
Thats a nice swift and the price is not obscene.
Thats a bit pricey for a winder.
I dont know if I have winders in stock, but I will look.
I sell them for $25 when I have them
I sell swifts too, but mine are not wood, again, not sure if I have them in stock, I can look. The swifts I sell are $30
