As you know, we moved from Buffalo, NY to Little Falls, NY. We had DirecTV. We had a 2 year contract with DirecTV. So we went to have them transfer our service. But there was a catch. If I were you, I'd dispute the charge with your credit card company. That's crap. With cell phone companies if you move and they don't offer comparable service in that area, they void the contract because they can not hold up their end - without penalty to either party.

Their idea of comparable service was the waiver, or installing an antenna. We disagreed. We plan on disputing the charges, and we're also planning on filing a complaint with the Attorney general/Better Business bureau. It's so crappy though.

They screwed us big time too! We upgraded to a HD tv and then we called and wanted to switch to their HD package and they said we would be breaking our contract and we need to sign up as a new customer! WTF? We had an account with them for over 2 years.

We ended up going to Dishnetwork!
