2011 has not been an auspicious year for my hobby. First, I got sick and missed performing at the Soviet show. Then the Very Serious Circus School had Very Serious Financial Problems, so I switched schools. It's nice when persistence does eventually pay off, particularly after such a hard slog. I've seen that sometimes in Parkour (from which I now feel recovered... by Friday... class was Monday). I'm still remedial but I'm better than I was when we started. Onward!

I can relate to what you've said elsewhere about having to work harder in order to achieve the same results as your average human. I am not a natural athlete by any stretch of the imagination. I achieve results largely by being too stubborn to give up.

Parkour sounds fiendishly difficult and highly intriguing. I will have to try it.

As an addendum, I did 9 straddle-ups in a row in class today. On Tuesday, I will try for 10. Soon I will be invincible!
