I watched a few episodes of Sons of Anarchy, at least enough to see Henry Rollins playing a white supremacist, but I think that the true unsung genius of this show about a Northern California biker gang is their set designer. All of the bikers looked like they should be hanging out outside of Cat Club circa 1999, which is right and good, though probably less scary to me than it is supposed to be to the audience. But when you see interior shots of the bikers' homes, usually decorated by their wives and girlfriends, it's wall-to-wall Laura Ashley. Every time I saw a scene with a biker sitting down on his floral patterned couch, or standing in front of a faux-Victorian fireplace mantle in a suburban tract home, I giggled a little.

I spent a few minutes looking for it and then gave up when it did not immediate manifest itself. This calls for a more thorough search later. In the meantime, Mr. Rollins' people have informed me that the duet of Funkytown with RuPaul was never released. It is a sad, sad day.
