Walk the Walk

The walk home from the DNA Lounge is considerably longer now that I inhabit Bunker 2. Other residents of this building get around the problem by bicycling to and fro, which occasionally results in drunken 2:30 am skids across the pavement, but usually gets the bicyclists home safe and sound. silly question: why don't you just walk down folsom and turn on 4th? it's only like half a block out of your way, and the only precarious section would be the folsom -> bryant walk, taking you right by ye olde glas kat immediately afterward.

Because the landlord has rented out the Concrete Bunker and walking by there makes me sad. I realize that I should be over the Bunker by now, but it was a long relationship that ended abruptly and we never really had any kind of closure.

In the early 90's, when I strolled home along streets in SOMA, I made a habit of walking in the center of the street, singing opera, as loudly as possible. This is also a neat trick for the ATM. No one attempts to mug/rape a person singing opera loudly.

This is actually pretty brilliant. I don't know how reliable it is, but I'm fully in favor of more opera being sung in the streets.
