You Should Hate it Here.

So, up here in canada, some of you may have heard, that our current Liberal-lead minority government was essentially 'toppled' due to a no-confidence vote not long ago by our Parliament (to americans who may not be aware: that's roughly the same thing as Congress, i believe.) I've done my best to try and follow the course of the ensuing election ( Read more... )

NDP = New Democratic Party or National Democratic Party. something like that.

And the guy before Harper was Preston Manning (accck, now I have Air Farce in my head - 'I love that word Refooooorrrrm')

And that about sums up all my political knowledge. ;)

NDP is New Democratic Party, yeh.

The system eats ass. This is proven.

There also isn't a better one.

The world is full of people...so people have to run it. Sadly, most people are, by nature, greedy, small minded, fear-driven, and kind of stupid. It's not their fault. Genetics, public schools, society in general and millennia of evolution made them that way.

The best you can do is choose the lesser of the evils and hope for the best.

I'd rather have a government chock full of special needs liberals than one full of genius conservatives. >_< But that's because I like people more than I like money. Well, okay, actually I don't like people at all and I like money a lot, but I have a generous, giving, merciful nature and therefore feel that the idiots we call the human race need all the help they can get. *blink* (I am not human! I am not human ( ... )

ps: Can't you just totally picture all of Ottawa filled with special needs MP's? Doesn't it make you giggle? At the same time, wouldn't the world be a better place?

pps: I forgot to smack you again for expecting politicians to be anything but untrustworthy pieces of crap.

I'll make an awesome Prime Minister someday.

You're right, I do expect them to be more than untrustworthy crap, and one day soon I will rant about why here. or shove copies of Transmetropolitan down your throat to explain it :)

Also Quebecor=Quebecois
Quebecor is a National printing and distribution house...more on that later
While Quebecois is a political party....(doing research on background information I can only shudder and refer you to this link Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe)

All I know is that my one puny vote needs to be a valid vote for any party not containing Stephen Harper. Spoiling the ballot is one thing...but in the instance where we have evil like Harper, we need to do anything we can to keep wierdo quacks like him out of office, and that means voting for the lesser....or stupider of two evils if necessary. I will end my mini-rant by quoting someone (I can't remember who...)

"all it takes for evil to win is for good people to do nothing"

yeah, Quebecor was a typo. I know that they're a big printing company of course (as i was looking into comics publishing afterall)

and, by the way, you just quoted the bible! :)

The Green Party nearly had it last go round. I for one would like to see some fresh blood in the Parliment, e'en if it only be the opposition be it Green Party or Independants, just too shake up the leading Power for a change, give them a run for their money. I always root for the underdog, when you see that 1% for the low man is usually meself. and why? cause they are closer tae the people and hunger for the same as the people...and thats what makes them so scarey to the higher parties.
