This is a slightly different feeling Harry from your usual - and not having read Ru's story (because omg I just cannot do another wip right now) I don't know if the difference stems from something fundamental to this scene, or if it's simply you expressing him a little differently... he feels sad, but also a little petulant - I'm not sure why... I mean, this is lovely, there's so much detail here, but I'm caught more by the desire to understand this picture and the emotions and thoughts behind this Harry, than simply to admire it.
Yeah. Ru's Harry and mine are different, and I guess everybody has their own version of the characters. It was quite tricky to see the characters through another person's pov and put down the images on paper. I don't know if I did it right, but I did try my best to decode Ru's mind when I drew the pictures for her brilliant work.
Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear that it looked good. :-)
Okay, I refrained from talking too much about colour for the first illustration, but I can't not for this one.
Oh god.
The orange! The intense red in his shirt. The bits of blue on the door.
His body language is perfect for the quote from the fic you chose. The lighting-- the lighting's just gorgeous, balanced, and so SO poignant. You have such a thing for atmosphere and backstory.
♥♥♥ Sorry I didn't reply until now. RL has been haunting me.
Glad that the orange and red worked! I remember choosing red for the T-shirt because I just brought a tube of real Vermillion (not hue) and couldn't wait to try it out.
I'm so glad to hear that the picture fits in the story. I only hope I did Ru's brilliant fic justice.
Hm, bit of a different look for his face here; this Harry's lips are wider than you often portray them. Which is not bad, just different. :-) I like the blue highlight in his hair and the way that the details of his clothes are so softened, especially in comparison to the facial features. Also I like the latch on the door for some reason!
I can't recall what was in my mind when I drew this, it was more than half a year ago. But yeah, this Harry looked different from my usual ones. :-)
I can recall, though, that that latch and the door frame was the reason I trashed and redid the picture once. They're insanely hard to color, so I'm really glad to hear that you liked the latch, that the time I put in them was not wasted.
