These are done Japanese Ehagaki (絵はがき) style.
The scenes are taken from
Avocados and Pears and Slytherin Sweaters by
ms_semicolon. I guess most of you have read it already. It's a sweet, sweet happy story (H/D, of course) anybody would fall in love with, myself included.
"Life's gotten good, hasn't it?" Harry asked him, apropos of nothing.
Draco thought about it, and inwardly agreed.
He picked up his plastic cup of wine and touched it to Harry's lightly, in a silent toast - and there, again, was that beaming smile that somehow warmed him all through.
(Excerpt from
Avocades and Pears and Slytherin Sweaters)
I was trying to get some blank postcards for watercolor painting yesterday, but the store only carried those for Ehagaki (Japanese black ink painting for hand-drawn cards. I hope I got the definition right). So I bought a pack of 10 home to experiment.
I did it with watercolor, which is not how it's supposed to be done. I think we're supposed to use Chinese ink and there are color palates special for this type of painting. Oh well. :-) It was so so much fun - the way the paint flew is just amazing. If you know how much I enjoyed this you will be jealous.
Ehagaki seems to be quite popular among the Japanese, which I can understand. It's definitely addicting.
