Right now the Democrats definitely have the House, and the Senate is still undecided. One of the states that'll swing it: Virginia. Right now Webb is ahead by fewer than 8000 votes

you forgot nebraska, which banned same-sex unions and legal contracts of any kind SIX YEARS AGO.
it's horrifiying. i moved here from chicago, just as that vote went through. i cried for days because i'd moved to a state that valued equality so little.
i am one of the americans who doesn't see you as a threat to society. i am one of the americans who believes you are a valued and necessary part of society. every single person is valued and necessary, and deserves the same rights.
and i'm one of the americans who mourns the loss you've incurred.
Agreed, total bullshit. But, at the same time, look at the localities that it did not pass, Arlington, Fairfax County, Williamsburg, Richmond, and others. Hmmmmm what do they all have in common, they are large cities, people in those cities tend to have higher education schooling, and oh yea are smart. We need to just cut Virginia in half and make all of Richmond up Virginia and name Southern Virginia "A place for idiots", maybe even make road kill legal and marrying your cousin legal.
Yup, still accurate.Of course the silver linging in this link is that interacial marraige 'back in the day' and look how ludicrious society finds that idea in THIS age!!! Here's hoping we can pull our heads outta of our asses soon and have the same thing happen for gay marriage!?!? *crosses fingers*
Also, when you look at the bigger pic keep in mind what *states* are voting on this BS.....aka you are never going to see this pass in a state like CA, NY, IL, etc.....I guarentee it woould shot down in a heartbeat (along w/greeted w/gay rights pickiteers).
Just some food for thought!!(trying to keep a positive spin on it as it makes my blood boil as well;p)
W.T.F.? Seriously? WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK????? I walked into work this morning and my co-worker told me that VA passed their "definition" bullshit.
I just don't understand why people think someone else's relationship threatens their own. Love is not a threat. It's not scary. Why do you feel the need to shit all over someone's happiness?
UGH. I'm so disappointed in VA and the state where I grew up and call home: Colorado.
The only thing that sucks here is how expensive the cost of living is.
The tax thing is BS, though we may also end up filing seperately because of CS and Steven's ex. I really can't fathom about how people can be so offended by wanted legal protections.
The cost of living in Western Mass at least is way lower than it is here. We're currently paying around $1100 for <500square-foot studio. In Noho it was around $700 for a WAY bigger place.
If we were to move farther from DC in Virginia, the cost of living would be much lower, but we're about 3 feet from the boarder, and it's fucking ridiculous here.

I don't understand at all how anyone can be afraid of people in love. My guess is that they're all bitter in their own marriages and are jealous.

And I'll still be pissed that we have to file taxes separately.
(and right now I miss Northampton so fucking much)
