Each summer our services are led by members and groups from First Parish, while our staff are on vacation. For the service following the two party conventions, Chris DiMeo asked me, Woody Kay, and Lois Fine to weigh in with our thoughts on how our UU faith influences our view of politics. :-) Did you share this with Gabe? I think he'd enjoy confirmation of the impact he has; I know he has a hard time, sometimes. He is one of my very favorite humans.

Thanks for sharing this. I, too, love that vote-weighting idea, but agree that enacting it is both unlikely and would be difficult to set up fairly. In the meantime, I hope we can ensure that everyone gets their ONE vote, though the recent court rulings have given me hope for that.

Re: broader groups being actually better, this has been a real lesson for me as well. I think living and working in multicultural Canada has helped me make that transition.

This is a lovely message. I don't know your friend Gabriel, but I've appreciated seeing your links to his Facebook posts, since I really know very few non-white Americans at this point.
