RL is going slightly haywire...and yet fandom still plods along.

It was/is my day at winter_of_wes should that tempt anyone into reading some post-NFA Wesley. Actually there is some great stuff over there, particularly some lovely artwork, I highly recommend taking a wander ( Read more... )

Oh, beautifully captures the terrible turmoil of his emotions. Man, you packed so much into that drabble as I'm thinking about it, his mixed desires to kill her and make love to her, his loss of place now that he's no longer needed by the Scoobies, the knowledge of how awful consequences can be, and that further moment of pain and dismissal just about to happen when Xander arrives to show him what his real place is once again. Very nicely done. No wonder so many of us love Spike as a character with all that complexity.

Well, as long as you liked it that's the main thing! I did pack a lot in, but I also made it 3 times the drabble length!

I always thought that they could have built a camraderie over that summer without Buffy. I could really see that happening.
And, of course, I wanted to bring a little bit of their relationship in for you.
Yeah, I guess Spike can be anything to everyone. A very versatile character.

Congratulations on your nom! ::tosses confetti:: Well deserved I might add. I am throwing strong punches at both RL & your computer. I hope things get better soon. ::hugs you tightly::

The tree feels safe and secure behind his back. He needs its sturdiness now. But like the air around him, it delivers messages of memorial.

Gorgeous.

I love the thought of Darla haunting Angel's mind. Well done on both drabbles, my sweet.

I am loving your icons right now. That's another beautiful one.
I have to house-sit hence the lack of LJ time. But maybe that means reading and writing and TV-watching :)
I'm glad you liked the drabbles. It's hard to see if they work sometimes.
Oh and thanks for the thanks. I was quite stunned.

Ooh, ooh! Wondefulness. I particularly love the Spike one - the reference to his mother works very well, and I love the phrasing of "Scooby and Dawn protector."

Congrats on the nom!

Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the drabbles - I've seen perhaps one or two fics draw a connection between the bringing back of his mother and the bringing back of Buffy. Certainly if you go back and watch that scene and imagine that he's thinking about both women, it makes it so much more powerful.
Ah the wonders of hindsight.

Many congrats on the nom and hugs for RL.

Loved both drabbles. The link between Spike thinking about Buffy's resurrection and about what happened to his mother was wonderful and so creepy.

And then poor Angel. Great picture of him at his lowest, and I love the rythmn of the writing and how it all narrows down to one word at the end "Denial". Glad I asked for that one *g*.

Thank you and thank you. And thanks for your emails. I haven't opened them yet (heh) but I've seen them there and they're really appreciated.

As I remarked to semby I've read fics of that once or twice but if you watched that scene knowing what he knows, your heart just breaks for him. A fine bit of acting from JM.

Oh! I'm so glad you liked it! I had the idea that he would hide from the world - and often you use your hair to hide don't you? So this came to me - mixing the dodgy fashion-sense with his fear of himself.
Yeah, is he denying her or himself? Hmmmm...
