More post-NFA Spangel fic. Just to remind you that the fic left off with Spike’s re-arrival in Rome. That naturally means that Part 2 opens with the post-battle happenings.

Little niggle: American colleges and universities don't have "firsts". We don't even know what "firsts" are. (College professor, here). If Connor is still at Stanford, and his GPA (grades) are maybe 3.5/above, he would probably make what we call "the Dean's List" - a listing of students whose final grades are in the "excellent" range.

To be honest, I have little clue about firsts/seconds/upper seconds/lower firsts myself but, as I have even less clue about the US GPA system, I sent him to a British University in the first part! And that way he's out of the reach of the evil W&H tentacles. But thanks for the info, I'm sure I'll write more Connor one day so that will be really useful.

I really like the way you're telling the story through both their points of view in the past and the present.
Thanks! If I look back on it, I guess it works in that Spike is always active and Angel more introspective...
Poor Angel - lol. He has it hard.
There will be more tomorrow. ;)

I see Angel hasn't lost the gift of being totally unimaginative now that he's human again - chocolate ice cream indeed and with the pretty vampire practically offering himself to be the spunk-tester-in-chief.
Nice job at keeping Angel in character with all the self doubts sowed by his father still bearing fruit. And lovely description of Spike nursing him and reflecting on Angel's huge capacity for denial, even when unconecous.

Well, that's only cos the next section is the longest and it had to break somewhere!

You had me laughing a bit there! Sometimes it's hard to know whether to stay with the canonical moments, but I guess for Angel that moment would have a lot of resonance. And I think sometimes he likes his in-jokes.

Oh wow, thanks a lot. I'm really pleased that people are finding Angel believable because as you know there's always so much going on under the surface with him. If he could say nothing, he would!

There are so many things I like about this. But especially the special Spike snark. Hee. You're so clever.
I love how he's all earthy, and gross boyish and tender all at once.
Case in point:
“Oh well,” he continued, “better look on the bright side. Pecker still seems to be in working order, if a bit limp. Sure it’ll come to once you get back to your self. In fact, I know it will. Could work on that for you, if you like?”
Spike rolled his eyes at the lack of response. “If only,” he added, quietly.
::eats it up with a spoon::
Kinda sucks to be Angel, eh? I do rather hope he finds some peace.
“Yes, I am. I’m mean, I’m still Angel for God’s sake.”
Was that supposed to be "me" or is Angel saying that he's a meanie?

Hmmmm.... maybe, maybe not ;)

Ooops, it was supposed to be "I mean" thanks for the catch. I think I struggled over that sentence quite a bit. Because I'm still me has about five different meanings where Angel is concerned!
Thanks so much for your comment, just glad you're liking it still, and part 3 should be up tonight ::fingers crossed::

So glad you read and enjoyed.
I really loved your Spike perspective in the first chapter, not knowing what he should do but handling it anyway.
Yeah, I had fun exploring that. I think although he's really good at taking care of himself, being shoved with the responsibility is something he hasn't really had to deal with since Drusilla.
I also really loved the Connor-Angel interaction, and the camaraderie between Angel and Spike, especially in that final scene.
Yay I'm glad you liked those bits too. I do love me some awkward but caring Angel and Connor, so I had to work that in somewhere ;)
