Oh darlin' - I absolutely loved it - such a wonderful gem of a story.

But Wes took a moment, just a moment, to revel. And the dreams that came to him that night were peaceful, loving, restorative.

Simply beautiful. Thank you so much. I know I will be back to reread this often.

*hug*

Good, good, good! The main thing was that you enjoyed it (thank goodness - phew - ::mops brow::)
Yeah that line - it's always nice to know you're loved.
::hugs back::

I was looking for a cheerleader/supportive icon and don't seem to have one. (Note to self...)

Still love the variety of emotional turns this takes, from humor to wonder to sweetness to despair to hope.

And speaking of icons, hee to yours!

Hee! Exactly! Finally got to put an icon to very good use! :)
Thanks for your help too - and speaking of cheerleading icons, sounds like there's a search in order...

Great Wes voice, especially dorky!Wes. Aww, I love Spin the Bottle.

Thank you! *g* Me too! Love Spin the Bottle! :)
Actually, the commentary is also hilarious (with AD and JW) and it sounds like they had so much fun making it. Real light relief in the middle of all that doom and gloom.

I just had to read this, since I'm far too curious and I love your writing. Skimmed over the R-rated bits (sorry, just not my thing), but read all the rest.

It's such a clever concept - Young!Wesley finding his own records/diary just works a treat! A so many funny lines, picking out just a few:

Flicking the collar of his jacket, he lowered his head in his best Philip Marlowe impression and attuned his thoughts in the way of a hard-boiled dick

He started pulling out books by age and perusing them, handing the less descriptive ones to the girl, and the more frightening ones to the boy.

Thank you! You really can write! :)

Thank you for your lovely comments. I'm very glad that you stopped by to read it, and don't worry about the skimming! :)
Heee! I just loved that episode so much - it's such a stark contrast between Young!Wesley and his older, haunted self. I guess he and Spike have a bit in common there.

Lovely story, Lillian, the slow discovery as young Wesley puts it together what he and Angel had been to one another. YOu made me smile at the pompous younger self and I thoroughly enjoyed being pulled along in Wesley's accumulating understanding of the whole picture. Very cleverly done.

One of many moments that made me smile

He was living the dream and now just had to put his mind into action (and his fists only if necessary), crack a few jokes, drink a few whiskeys, seduce a countess but save a virgin and the case would be solved. After all he wasn't Head Boy for nothing, and he could always karate his way out of a tight spot and there were those menacing implements up his arms.

I think it was the 'menacing implements' and the 'karate his way out' that make me almost snerk aloud.

I just wanted to build the mental picture of him dancing around with those swords popping out of his sleeves. AD deserves the credit really! :)
Thank you for your comments! :) It would be an intense situation to lose your memory and then read about your life. I guess everyone's would make for strange reading to their younger selves! And some intense things have happened to Wes, that's for sure!
