I've managed to get a flat (yay! yay! yay!) Woohoo! *throws confetti* Let me know when I can send you S3 of DW. *g* Actually once you've moved in I'd be happy to lend you 'Spike: Asylum' if you'd like to read it?
And good luck with the interviews - Darcy had two that he didn't get before hitting jackpot with this last one. And he reckons it was the one that was the worst... ah well. Such is life!
The exhibition sounded v. interesting - sometimes it is v. annoying to live so far from London...
Thank you so much! Heeee, that icon is so cheering isn't it? Seeing John Simm squee is indeed a tonic for the soul :D All those wonderful things arriving through my letterbox sound beyond awesome! :) Thank you! Once I move in officially, I'm going to be sending an email with my snail mail address - so you'll be sure to receive that email :) Yes, all these interviews are just adding to the experience. What do they say? Third time is the charm? Congrats to Darcy anyway :) The exhibition sounded v. interesting - sometimes it is v. annoying to live so far from London... Yes, but you have that wonderful green park not far from your doorstep :) London is interesting but it is also terribly crowded. Finding a quiet moment to yourself can be tricky... ::receives the hugs with glee and squishes you back::
I've managed to get a flat (yay! yay! yay!) in a really lovely tree-lined street which has the potential to be a truly great place to live. I've had a few job interviews Excellent news about the flat! And sending massive good vibes on the job search. Keep us posted.
Thanks Petzi so much for your good thoughts. That icon is very appropriate too :) I am excited about the flat - it will be nice to hang my clothes and stop living out of a suitcase *g*
Yes, there were big squees going on (inside!) when I heard about the flat. Thanks for your good thoughts - much appreciated! :) All the jobs I'm going for are through an agency - but I think companies canvas a wide variety of agencies when they have a vacancy. So the rate can differ that way, I suppose. Or perhaps the consultants are good at negotiating? Ah well...
They weren't meant to be - because something better is waiting around the corner.
Exactly. In my experience that's quite true. It's actually kind of odd thinking what a different life I'd have had if I'd got some of the jobs I went for when I first left university.
Thank you! And heee, I love that icon of Giles in the party hat :) Exactly. In my experience that's quite true. It's actually kind of odd thinking what a different life I'd have had if I'd got some of the jobs I went for when I first left university. I think it's important to think ahead, rather than backwards too often otherwise it can just get depressing! But, as you say, it's fun to stop and think about how life could have been so different...every opportunity presents us with a T-junction or a crossroad or a motorway off-ramp or some other road :D
The exhibition runs to the 1st week of September so you still have some time. Also it's open til 10PM most days, I think too. It was interesting - but lacked some of the power of punk music, maybe? Hmmm, hard to put my finger on it.

Were these interviews agency work? I thought temp agencies paid standard salaries?
