Hoorah for a post that doesn't have fic in it

Apr 29, 2006 17:51

Firstly, yay for things arriving in my letterbox and my email box ::smooshes you know whos::

I've spent the morning revelling in the exploits of two of my favourite men (er, Stephen Fleming and James Franklin *G*) and trying to recover from all the intensely weird dreams I had after seeing the film Caché. I thoroughly enjoyed it (mainly because I ( Read more... )

Hope Franklin manages to make his century. Then they should declare to give themselves a chance to win. They'll run out of time, probably. It's rather late, this damned South African cricket.

Me too, it was all rather odd at the end of Day 2.

Absolutely, but they niftily have the highlights on in the morning and I try not to listen/read/watch anything and watch it.

Very sensible. That's what I used to do with the Ashes in England -- it would pay through the night and I would watch up to about midnight, then they would replay the whole thing again during the day. It really is the world's premier cricket contest -- they wouldn't do that otherwise.

I'm so glad they're showing England/Sri Lanka here. I guess it would be easier for Sky to do a deal with something being filmed in England than the subcontinent which I know is a bit of a minefield. But who will captain England -- Michael Vaughan is still wobbling round on his gammy knee, Trescothick, who knows, Freddie, who knows. It'll be one of those two. My favourite, Matthew Hoggard, was heard to say, while they were in India, that he and Steve Harmison were worried how many sick and injured players there would need to be before either of them was asked to captain!

Woe! This morning there was no replay ::pulls out hair:: And I got up early to watch it. Bleurgh.

I'm so glad that you got to see that, particularly as it's rugby season here. And that seems to always, always take preference.

Yes, I think it's much easier. And now cricket has gone to Sky in the UK it must be that more easier perhaps?

Heee! Poor bloke! Though it's tough on a bowler to be captain, so I hope not for their sakes.

OMGisn'tLoganjusttodieforcute? Hmmm, let me think. Hell, yes! *fans self*

I got so pissed when Channel 10 ran about 10-11 episodes and then took it off air! *kicks Channel 10* I have since bought the first season from Amazon! *loves VM & Logan*

Heeeee! :) ::fans the both of us together::
That's so annoying when the broadcasters do that! I arrived back in NZ when they showed the season finale (thankfully I didn't watch it) but now I'm wondering if they'll ever show Season 2. ::worries::
I'm pretty sure you can get downloads off the net, though, but my 'net connection is so dodgy that I can't really try it.

It is terribly annoying, isn't it?! *shakes broadcasters* I have managed to stay fairly spoiler free so I'm holding out for Season 2 on DVD 'cause there is not much hope that Channel 10 will run it anytime soon. *pouts*

Me too, but I know various things because I've seen icons. And, kittyzams keeps dropping tiny tidbits on me *g* Also, it was hard not to notice how mental my f-list in America went after this week's episode, even though I didn't click any of the LJ cuts ;) I'm a good girl ::nods::

Congrats on the Shades of Grey nom! Very cool, and well deserved.

Also, welcome to Veronica Mars! It's great to have you in another of my fandoms! Sometime or other, you should go back and check out theohara's season 1 VM fic; it goes amazingly well with canon.

Thanks very much! The nomination was totally unexpected. I only know two of the other nominees so far but I love their stuff so it's a bit mind-boggley.
Also, welcome to Veronica Mars!
Thanks very much. Do I get a badge? :D And whee fic recs already. I loved theohara's Buffyverse fic so I can only imagine how good her VM fic must be.
Btw I'd like to cook something up for you tomorrow but I've a dizzingly wide range of things from which I could cook! Is there anything specific you'd like?

Oh, yes. There's a badge and a PCH biker keyring. *grin* And the second season? Just as good as the first, so far. It's amazing how many Jossverse folks turn up---not to mention Joss himself, of course.

Ooooh! A shiny thing for me! *bounces* That sounds wonderful! Let me think... You do some really good Faith, and anything with her or with Faith/Buffy would be cool. On the other hand, I could also really go for either my secret Spike/Tara weakness, or some Angel/Wesley to remind me of how we met. Any of that that sparks something for you would utterly rock. Really, I will love anything you make for me.

Oh I'd completely forgotten about that *g* I was already jazzed at seeing Joey Lauren Adams in one of the S1 episodes because I'm a big fan of Kevin Smith's films. And I know probably too much about what this lady gets up to ::points to icon:: because of various icons I've seen about the place :)
I was actually thinking F/B, but I haven't written W/A in like forever and it's always lovely to write S/T. Ok, I'll have to go away and think about it ;)
