This is the novella Cabal, upon which the movie Nightbreed was based. Plus some short stories.

I've only read a few things by Clive Barker... I got about 2/3 through The Great and Secret Show and just gave up. He seems to be a very uneven writer, but good when he's good.

It has been a look-in-the-mirror and all the wrinkles kind of day.

The book I have is all short stories, which are pretty easy to follow. But gruesome more than scary.

I quite fancy having Clive in my bed (even though he wouldn't fancy me...) as I find him goodlooking, especially in this particular jacket photo from the 80s, back when he looked like this.
