Oh, and speaking of movies... the historical figure about whom I know the most and with whom I have been most fascinated is Alexander the Great ( Read more... )

And he gets angry rather well, with large gray eyes that look like they could kill you if he turned them on you and merely thought about it hard enough. Which is what you want in your Alexander.

And butt-sex. Mustn't forget that aspect, which was downplayed thanks to American audiences' horror of it (at least between guys). It only peeked through in a few moon-eyed scenes. Overall, though, while the Oliver Stone flick isn't the best presentation, but its hardly the worst. William Shatner as Alexander the Great, anyone?

I loved Mary Renault's "Persian Boy." Ah, Bagoas! He's in the Oliver Stone picture, you know.

Noooooo!! Don't tell me that! I thought there was butt-sex in this film, if nothing else redeeming! (Rrrrowr, Jared Leto. The only piece of casting I could get behind. As it were.)

Oh good, at least there's that. He'd better be beautiful.

No butt-sex. Only boys making eyes at one another and talking of their undying love in very schoolboyish ways.

The fellow cast as Bagoas could have been cast as an elf in LOTR. Tall, thin, long hair, and adrogenously beautiful.
