Grocery Shopping with Joe

Feb 26, 2009 16:51

Today I bought 48 items to restock my kitchen. I spent $105.60. Some of these items were kind of pricey (lean pockets, pizzas, chicken nuggets condiments, cereal, 5 bags of chips), but still managed to average just over $2 an item. This is just one of the many reasons why I rock. ;)

oh man! junk food galore! Not that it's a bad thing, but still! I wish I could spend money on groceries like that again. I have a buddy who eats hot pockets for dinner almost daily...You would think he'd be sick of it already.

I don't go grocery shopping like this often, and probably haven't done any grocery shopping in about three months. But I figured that an unexpected influx of cash was a good excuse to actually have food in my kitchen. I bought sandwich stuff, salad, and things like that as well. But I do tend to splurge a little bit when I'm shopping while hungry. I managed to keep myself from buying candy, ice cream, and donuts, though. ;)

that's good! Everytime I go to the grocery store, I usually buy the same things. I always buy a bag of apples, bananas(even though it does make my tummy churn), tofu, cilantro and ramen. Those are my "must buy" items. I try to sub candy/sugar treats with fruits. =)

I usually buy bottled water, lean pockets, ramen, Pringles, and gum. I might pick up something else if there's a sale, but those are my staples. Any fruit that I eat comes from work. ;)

The wonders of Walmart? I've noticed that just about every time I shop there my purchases average out to be about $2 each, which is weird, that's why I'm assuming Monopolymart. I hate shopping in that shit hole, but I can't argue with the prices.

Yeah. I can't afford not to shop at Walmart. Every now and then I'll go to a real grocery store if there's a good sale on something that I like, but that's very rare.
