i got the impression that it was a threat to motivate batman, but joker didn't actually do it.

when playing, did you get tricked into fighting the mad hatter? stupid blind faith led me into his trap.

I sure did. I was like, "It's strange that they would make this so easy, but I guess it's time to cure myself so I can really kick some ass." Little bastard. I totally noticed him in the cut scene and didn't think anything of it.
