There's another faint burst of giggling from the stacks to her left, and Lily looks up from her essay (two rolls of parchment on the effect of the stage of the moon on medicinal potions), again, annoyed

A moment later, a floating paper lion makes its way through the air, as though it's running, until it lands on the table by her books. It closes the necessary distance between the empty bit of the table and her notes before it stops moving.

On it is a note.

It reads, should Lily unfold it:

Are you as annoyed as I am right now?

Two or three tables over, James is working on his Charms homework. Remus and Peter are sitting across the table from him, noses buried in their own assignments.

A few moments (and three bouts of giggling) after that, a scrap of paper folded into a small triangle will drop onto his homework.

Possibly even more than that.

Do watch out -- you're between the lovebirds and Amity Root. You could wind up in the line of fire, if it turns out she's as annoyed as we are.

But there's really no denying the lion was impressive. Both the folding and the animating.

James quietly snickers at the little PS of Lily's note.

Remus looks up inquiringly. He glances from James to the note in his hands, then rolls his eyes and returns to his work.

James grabs his quill again and writes back.

The note returned to her is a slightly less complex origami figure; it's a small parchment-coloured sailboat this time.

I think I can handle Amity Root.

I don't think I can handle the lovebirds.

Why they choose the library to do things, I don't know.

I'm actually trying to work this time.

How much longer can this last? It's got completely beyond ridiculous.
