Oh i've already written a paper on fanfic before. You just call them 'alternative stories' - talk about how fans become so...fanatical that they, create new stories, go beyond the boundaries of canon to fulfil their own wants that they could not achieve from the real stories - Use and Gratification Model. Fanfiction provides what canon cannot; SEX!!! Lots of boylove!
