i just...i don't know how you did it in so few words, but i immediately put myself in draco's place and thought about my realtionship with my own father, and how...passionately empty it was as a child. that's a pretty amazing feat. <3

Yeah...some fathers can be useless when it comes to connecting emotionally to their child. (Well, and some mothers too, to be fair.)

Thanks again <3 Hopefully this is not a common bastard-y moment with Lucius. Maybe he's just touchy about Narcissa which would make that at least once a day.

Lucius is too hung up on dead!Narcissa to even think up a plausible lie. Or he might have given an obvious lie because he wanted Draco to change. the subject. now.

Need a little bit more background to get the full punch of emotional neglect (I didn't pick up on the Narcissa thing), but it certainly leaves an impression as is.

No, I intentionally made it non-specific =) So it can be canon!Draco and Lucius having a conversation. And it can easily be an older Draco too, but I decided to put down his age.

...and I wrote this drabble because I wanted to do a mirror of Erised scene with BoyWhoLived!Draco.
