I am currently reading Philip Pullman's Northern Lights. It's really really good. And i've heard they are making a film from it, called The Goldern Compass

Why they changed the name, I don't know. Might be something to do with Americans. Or not.

I know someone who knows someone who is working on the concept art for Northern Lights.
He didnt say anything about it being called The Golden Compass, though. If they've changed it, Ill fucking explode.

First of all, those bastards didnt understand what a Philospher was, and had to bastardize Harry Potter to something nice and simple ('Sorcerer'?? I mean,. PLEASE.), now they want to change Phillip Pullman??

Aside from ANYTHING else, if they dont call it Northern lights, it should be called, like. 'Lyra and the Alethiometer' or something. Not all this Golden Compass bollocks. ITS NOT EVEN A COMPASS.

I can't actually remember where i read that... but i do think it's the american name for the film. and yeah... it isn't even close to a compass, except in maybe appearance.

I didn't know they changed the name for the Harry Potter film... did they do it for the book as well?
