Dragon*Con 2011
I don't think I said much on here about going to Dragon*Con, but...I did go. And I had a wonderful time! I got to meet Gareth David-Lloyd (I never got to speak to GDL in Cardiff) and James Marsters for the 1st time, and see Amanda Tapping again. In addition I was able to meet a lot of friends I'd previously only been able to talk to online.
Gareth is amazing. He's charming and sweet in person, one on one, and a complete hoot on stage in front of a crowd. Not only did he have a panel all to himself, he was also on one with Mark Sheppard and did a live commentary for the Torchwood episode Countrycide. I didn't get good photos of him at the latter two, due to the horrid lighting in that ballroom, but I did manage quite a few at the former, as it was bright and cheery in that particular meeting room.
I teased Gareth a bit (in regards to part of my wifey's birthday present...) and he joked right back. I love him. Seriously. Gonna keep him. I will share those details with Wendy directly once she gets her pressies... He also called me "sweetie" at the photo op. UNF.
James teased ME because I am watching Buffy on Netflix and therefore he is not getting the money he would if I just bought the DVDs. :P I told him I'd work on that, but I can't pay HIM until *I* have a job. ;) He also informed me that he gets confused between Captain Jack and Captain John. "They're really the same name, you know." Um...yes, sweetie. I know. :D I got a Captain John photo signed.
Amanda was a delight as always. When we walked up to the autograph table she jumped out of her seat to give us hugs. I guess it's been about 2 years since we talked to her. It was a lovely gesture and she does give the best hugs ever. I adore her. Since she's been there through Jeff's custody ordeal and has been aware of every detail, she literally danced in her seat and squealed when she was given a card with a picture of Jeff with his daughter. And she got teary. How unusual. *sarcasm*
Anyway...without further ado...here are all my photos. I only took a little over 330 this time around. That's so weird for me. I also would have uploaded them daily but my computer was on the fritz in Atlanta. It's better now. :D
