2 - Marking, Inception - Arthur/Eames; Flashes emerald_embers August 30 2010, 02:13:11 UTC
There wasn't one competent person in their profession who wasn't an addict to some aspect of dreaming. Escapism for some. Creation for others. Arthur suspected for Eames it was the fact that in the dream world, there wasn't such a thing as 'too far'.

He'd guessed that much when they were on mission and heard the need for a kick; Eames had opted to take them both out in one shot, kissing him while sliding a gun off the dressing table, lining it up against the back of his head, and pulling the trigger.

He bit his tongue on waking that time, and Eames had looked smug for hours afterwards. That said, it seemed to be Eames' default expression - always so self-satisfied, laid back and cocky.

The most frustrating thing about it all was that Eames could pull the look off - he was gorgeous, rich, talented, and irritatingly good at actually doing what he was told. Arthur had never known anyone else who could pull off obedience with the attitude of a rebel that well before ( ... )
