I READ THIS GREAT FANFIC THAT HAD CAS' WINGS BE DEEP PURPLE AND THAT DEAN HAD THOUGHT THEY WERE BLACK THEN NOTICED THEY WERE PURPLE AND THOUGHT HOW FITTING IT WAS THAT CAS' WINGS SEEMED ONE WAY AND REALLY WERE ANOTHER, JUST LIKE CAS HIMSELF! HOLY CRAP! SCOOBY! You just mixed my childhood and my adulthood in the sexiest ways possible! I LOVE SCOOBY!CAS AND SHAGGY!GABE! It pleases me so! It came out really well, and all the characters are very recognizable.

I KNOW WHY ARE HIS WINGS ALWAYS BLACK IN FANART UUUUUGGGGGGH. Like, fanfiction, have more of a visual effect on the artists! omgggg :D I have a small bit of synesthesia, and mine is effected by the days and I see every day as a color. Since Thursdays are blue and Castiel is the angel of Thursday, I gave him blue wings! :D BUT OMG I REALLY IMAGINE THEM TO SHIFT COLOR BECAUSE THAT'S SO COOL.

I love that Sean has a man crush on Cas. It just makes me laugh in the best ways. I thought, "Oh man, if you were on the internet, everyone on my flist would love you."

No idea. But I love why you see his wings as blue! I think that's super spiffy! Maybe they are blue iridescent? THEN THEY CAN BE LOTS OF BLUES! Can I ask what your other days/colors are? I think that's so neat.

Just keep at it and one day it will make more sense and just click. If you want, I can give you some suggestions? I'm majoring in sequential art (comic books pretty much), and we had some intense coloring classes.

Monday - Red. Tuesday - Orange. Wednesday - Green. Thursday - Blue. Friday - Yellow. Saturday - Pink. Sunday - Purple. They all have feelings and tastes and smells as well. :D Well, the days do. Basic colors have feelings, and months just have colors.

I WOULD LOVE IF YOU COULD GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS/MAKE A TUTORIAL OR SOMETHING. I could make it up to you somehow?

XD The Scooby Doo thing is sheer brilliance.

Actually the blue wings remind me of the BBC Radio 4 adaptation of Faust wherein Mephistopheles, in his narration, informs the audience that his wings are set with deep blue feathers made of paper-thin tinsel iron (tinsel used to be made of real metals way back when). Whenever his character appears, there is the distant noise of sheets of metal softly sliding against one another, I always loved that image.

I never made up my mind re: Castiel's wings. I always assumed that when they appear in Lazarus Rising we're only seeing the shadows of the wings, not the wings themselves, which remain invisible. Equally, the 'wings' we get to see when an angel dies don't seem to be the real thing either, but rather the ashes the wings leave as they burn up. So - I think the wings could conceivably be any colour (or material!), there is no canonical angel wing look at all :D

Oooh, that sounds amazing. I've always been meaning to read Faust, and this is driving me even further to search it out and get it! That visual is great.

Yeah, I always assumed the "wings" we saw were the shadows, not the actual wings themselves. D: That's why I get a little miffed when I always see them as black, because I'm like, "WHAT ALL WE SAW WAS THE SHADOW." Also, putting the wings either black or white strikes me as a little...eh, I know this is horrible, but a little lazy. Like, give them a little color. Even cream or grey, just show me you cared a little more about the wing color.

I read an awesome fic (damn I wish I could find it again) that had Cas's wings be pure white and then blackened when he went into Hell to pull Dean out. But like, with amazing imagery and shit, so it stuck with me.

Sam as Velma is kind of really hot. So is Cas as Scooby. :| Oh, self.
