Fff, the plot didn't really matter in this episode anyway. Yeah there's some snake thing going on, but more importantly NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW! AND MATT SMITH PROVES HIS AWESOMENESS AND BADASSITY!
AND FUCK YEAH, AMY! And it was nice to see her not commenting on how the TARDIS was bigger on the inside. Usually that's the first thing everyone said, and as nice as it's a sort of injoke in fandom, it made more sense for her to not say it because she's sorta been coming to terms with time machine and whatever since she was seven. So yeah. YAY!!!
I disagree about the outfit, though. I want him in the clothes we saw at the beginning of the episode! All disheveled and yummy... I don't have a problem with the outfit itself, but I MISS RAGGEDY!DOCTOR!
LOL ALIEN SNAKE THING NO ONE CARES BUT MATT SMITH YOU MADE MY DAAAAAAAAAAAY. Like, oh gosh, I loved it when he put together Amy was Amelia. The way he was all like, "What? What? WHAT?" in an old grandmother voice - perfect! I thought to myself how all those people who thought Eleven was going to be awful can SUCK IT
I was really happy about Amy too! I really hope that she and the Doctor keep a friendly relationship; I'm so tired of the Doctor having romantic attachments (thanks RTD) that I'm really excited for another deep friendship with a companion, like Ten and Donna.
ARE YOU SERIOUS WHAT. I mean, disheveled is always a sexy thing, but first he put on the suspenders, which made me weak at the knees because I think they are incredibly, dorky sexy. And BOW TIES OH GOODNESS. Like, I love drawing them, but when I actually see them on people a little part of me lights up! But I will never complain about a Raggedy!Doctor! Mmm. I LIKE BOTH
Unfortunately, I think we're going to see Amy crushing on Martha. She clearly has a complex over him from her childhood, but I HOPE she'll get over it soon. I'm still pissed at RTD for making Martha in love with him because I think Martha is awesome, but the romance thing gets annoying.
As I look at him more, I have less of a problem with it. Like I said, the outfit itself is awesome, but it was a disappointment to see him change. :( I loved seeing his tie swinging around and especially that one scene in the hospital where he strides through the doors and UNF. I wish I had GIF-making skills to show you, but no.
I noticed that too. I hope to high heaven it doesn't happen, that somehow she gets over it or falls in love with somebody else or something other than that. I mean, it's obvious when you are a companion you grow to love the Doctor. The thing that I hate is that now they are focusing too much on the romantic love, like you need the romantic undertones to keep the story interesting. Why can't they be like Four and Sarah Jane or like Five and his little pimped out entourage? I kind of wish they would go back to the "OMG NO ROMANCE WITH THE DOCTOR YOU CRAZY" because fans are going to ship anything anyway.
Mmmmmm. This is true, bb, this is true. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Ten's outfit because suits will always be in style. Haha, I love in The Runaway Bride when he puts his jacket around Donna and she is like, "DAMN THIS IS SMALL." Lol, I have no GIF-making skills, either, don't worry! D:
Honestly though, I loved the episode so much! Eleven is the perfect mix of Nine and Ten: some of the things he did/say were outright rude (Nine, and I LOVED it) and he's still all over the place (Ten).
Matt Smith has an incredible presence on the screen, and his face really grew on me!
HAHA I CHEATED AND PRETENDED HE DID BECAUSE IT DID BOTHER ME A LITTLE THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE EYEBROWS SOMETIMES.
I really can't wait to see him in action, and I do agree! However, I really hope the relationship between him and Amy is more Nine/Rose than Ten/Rose - more subtle 'we-are-close-friends-but-we-could-be-more!' rather than 'obviously-we-want-to-do-each-other-because-we-are-soulmates-omgggggg'. This is making me want to go back and watch Nine again!
At first I was a little bit weary, but when he came out talking about apples and being all raggedy and basically acting like a kid I was like, "Oh yeah, I'm def. gonna love you." Yeah, his face does grow on you! LOL HIS NOSE. I JUST LIKE DRAWING IT.
