I have had so many awesome experiences in the last few weeks that I really should be writing about instead, but all I seem to have time for are lame posts like this. So without further ado...

I stole this idea from a friend - when i was a fairy once I tied lots of ribbons in my hair. I'd say it was my favorite part of the costume if I hadn't puff-painted some seriously cool swirls on my pants. I attached a picture so you can see what I mean. It's a shame the pants aren't in it.

It might be a bit much though. I just really love ribbon.

Thanks for sharing, Amy! I love those ribbons too. If I go with the fairy idea, I'll definitely steal your stolen idea.

I just don't know which costume to choose! For some reason, I'm hell-bent on sewing my own costume from scratch. But I'm not sure I have either the time or the funds to do that properly this year, so I might have to downgrade to buying stuff from Goodwill and altering it. But even then, I have so many ideas I can't choose!

New Idea: Nefertiti

This'll be better since I'm a little short on funds and a lot short on time this year... So I'm going to get a black dress from Goodwill/Salvo and add a blue sash and gold trim, possibly change it to a halter top if I can manage. Then I'll make matching arm cuffs, find some gold shoes (or buy other colored ones and spraypaint them) and get some gaudy gold jewelery. To finish it, I get to do awesome Egyptian-style makeup and put a couple gold-tied braids in my hair. Done!
