Fate has the weirdest sense of humour... We're into football here, in Romania, you know. The REAL thing, not that thing the Americans call football. ANYWAY. Two Romanian teams play in the UEFA Cup. And they both got to the quarter-finals, after beautiful, exciting matches. Quarter-finals, yes? So we're talking about another 6 teams besides the ( Read more... )

That does seem unfair, that they have to go head-to-head! Woe.

I never understood the American naming of a sport where the ball is almost entirely moved by hand, football. Obviously, "soccer" is the real football.

No women in my icons either.

What you have to keep in mind is that under original American Football rules there was no “forward pass.” As a result the game involved much more footwork like the running punt kick, the "dropkick" and field goal kick. Up until 1933 (when the NFL legalized the forward pass ) only the “backward pass” was legal, meaning the ball was advanced, and points could only be scored, on foot or by kick.

And, yeah, North American Football grew out of Rugby, which grew out of European football.

Hahaha. So bloody typical. Not that I care about football as such, despite having lived 1km away from Rapid for 25 years, and now next to Dinamo, but it's the fate's irony that gets me every time. :D

OTOH, at least a Romanian team will surely qualify for the semifinals, right? :D

OTOOH, could this be why supporters of Steaua were shouting obscenities in front of Dinamo (and, incidentally, under our windows) last night? There was a bit of a brouhaha, even the police came...

Meh, but why just 1? Why not 2? OMG WHY ALWAYS US?!? ;)

I wonder what was their problem with Dinamo though! Dinamo didn't qualify for anything, what has Dinamo got to do with it? But I guess when one's a retarded prick, things do get a little blurry at times... ;)

Dude, just think -- it could be worse. There could be NO Romanian teams playing at all.

Miss you dude. Come back on line and play with me. Life is so boring without you.
